Carly Simon

Carly Simon, an American singer, songwriter, and musician, is known for her enchanting voice and emotional ballads that have captivated audiences worldwide. Born in New York City on June 25, 1945, Simon grew up in a musical family, her father being the co-founder of the Simon & Schuster publishing company. From an early age, Simon showed a natural talent for music and began playing guitar as a teenager.

After joining a sorority at Sarah Lawrence College, Simon dropped out and, alongside her sister, formed the folk duo, The Simon Sisters. They released a successful album, but Simon's solo career began after signing with Elektra Records in 1971. She released her first self-titled album, which featured the hit song "That's the Way I've Always Heard It Should Be."

Simon's breakthrough came in 1972 when she released "You're So Vain," a song that topped the charts and became a cultural phenomenon.
