George Rickey

George Rickey was a renowned American sculptor who is famously known for his kinetic art pieces that move in response to the wind. Born on June 6, 1907, in South Bend, Indiana, George was raised by his parents who played an instrumental role in nurturing his artistic capabilities. His exceptional talent in art was evident from a young age, and upon completion of high school, he went on to pursue art studies at the New York University Institute of Fine Arts and later at the Chicago Institute of Design, where he honed his craft and earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Fine Arts.

With an insatiable thirst for knowledge, George combined his art and engineering knowledge to produce groundbreaking works that still remain renowned to this day. His works were a combination of motion and art, and they brought to life the concept of kinetics in sculpture.
