Georgia Holt

Georgia Holt was an Arkansas-born woman, known best for being the mother of the famous pop singer and actress Cher. However, she was also an entertainer in her own right and had a career in the entertainment industry.

Born on June 9, 1926, in Kensett, Arkansas, Georgia Holt was the daughter of a teenage mother, Lynda Gulley, and a twenty-one-year-old father, Roy Crouch. At the age of ten, she began singing with Bob Wills' Texas Playboys band, after which she developed a passion for music. Her early exposure to music helped shape her career in the entertainment industry.
