Glen Powell

Star chef whose popular YouTube channel Glen and Friends Cooking has amassed over 500,000 fans and followers to his instructional recipes and cooking instruction. Similarly, his Facebook page has more than 700,000 followers linked and interested in his cooking advice and support. He goes against the grain of a lot of recipe websites in that he believes in being straight forward with recipes with as few advertisements to bother the viewer as possible and keeping the focus on the recipe instead of burying the reader in backstory and narrative.

Before Fame

He films all his videos inside his backyard shed turned kitchen studio he created for his first career as a freelancer producer of video marketing for different food brands. He began his personal food YouTube channel in 200. In the midst of the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown when many people were using their time in isolation to cook and bake bread, a video of his from 2019 where he baked a Depression-era recipe for peanut butter bread went viral and launched him into the limelight.

His Instagram has over 7,000 followers and his Twitter feed boasts more than 10,000 followers all interested in his culinary adventures. Also, linked via his cooking YouTube channel, he is an amateur pilot interested and owns his own Cessna plane. 

Family Life

His wife is named Julie and she often appears in the videos to taste Glen's creations. She was the inspiration behind the idea of cooking recipes from vintage Canadian cookbooks. Together they have a tabby cat who often appears on his Instagram grid.
