Glenn Morris - American Decathlon Champion and Tarzan in Hollywood

Glenn Morris was an American decathlete who became famous after winning a gold medal in the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. Born on June 18, 1912, in Denver, Colorado, Glenn was the second child of three children. His parents were farmers, and they had to work hard to support their family during the Great Depression.

Glenn attended Denver's East High School, where he excelled in athletics. He won the state high school championship in the broad jump, high jump, shot put, and pole vault. After high school, Glenn attended Colorado State College, where he continued his impressive athletic career.

Glenn's rise to fame came at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, where he won the gold medal in the decathlon. His performance impressed German Chancellor Adolf Hitler and German filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl, who were both mesmerized by his athleticism and good looks.
