Ram Prasad Bismil

Ram Prasad Bismil was a prominent Indian poet, translator and political revolutionary of the early 20th century. He was known for his patriotic Urdu poem titled "Sarfaroshi ki Tamanna", which gained immense popularity during the Indian independence movement. Bismil's unwavering commitment to the cause of Indian independence made him an icon among the youth and a hero for generations to come.

Bismil was born on June 11, 1897, in Shahjahanpur, a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. He was the son of Murlidhar and Moolmati Bismil. His father was a wealthy merchant and landowner who was deeply interested in Indian culture and literature. Bismil received his early education in a Sanskrit school, where he excelled in his studies.

Bismil was an intelligent and ambitious individual who had a deep-seated desire to serve his country. He was a visionary who believed that India should be free from colonial rule. At the tender age of 18, he wrote a Hindi poem called "Mera Janm" ("My Birth"), which expressed his revolutionary political views and his objection to British rule in India.
