Steve Walsh

Steve Walsh was an American rock singer best known for his work with the progressive rock band Kansas. Born on June 15, 1951, in St. Louis, Missouri, Walsh was adopted as an infant into a family who later moved to Topeka, Kansas. It was here that he got his start in the world of music.

Walsh attended Topeka West High School and participated in music, drama, and flying clubs. He then went on to attend Washburn University in the same city and studied sociology and music. During his time there, he became the lead singer for the band White Clover, which would later become Kansas.
