About Sydney, Lady Morgan
Irish novelist who gained widespread fame as the author of The Wild Irish Girl. It became instantly popular upon its release in 1806, and reached its 4th US edition by 1807.
Before Fame
She began her writing career by writing poetry. She got wider recognition with her 1804 novel St. Clair.
Trivia
A bust of her head has been included in London's Victoria and Albert Museum and at David d'Angers's personal museum. She published her companion novels France and Italy in 1817 and 1921, respectively.
