WVD Hodge

WVD Hodge was a Scottish mathematician who made significant contributions to the fields of algebraic and differential geometry. He is renowned for his work on Hodge theory and the study of Kahler manifolds. Hodge was born on June 17, 1903, in Edinburgh, Scotland. He was the son of a prominent surgeon, William Hodge, and his wife, Georgina Simson.

Hodge received his early education in Edinburgh before enrolling at Edinburgh University in the early 1920s. He later continued his studies at Cambridge University, where he developed an interest in geometry. After completing his studies, Hodge worked as a lecturer at Bristol University and later became a fellow at St. John's College, Cambridge.
