Hamilton Hume was an Australian explorer who dedicated his life to discovering the hidden treasures of his homeland. Born on June 19, 1797, in Parramatta, New South Wales, Hamilton Hume was one of ten children born to Andrew Hamilton Hume and Elizabeth Hume. Having grown up in a large and affectionate family, he learned the importance of hard work and adventure from a young age. Hume attended school in Parramatta before beginning his explorations at the age of 17 with his brother and an aboriginal boy.
