Ruth Graham

Ruth Graham was an American writer and poet, best known as the devoted wife of world-renowned evangelist and crusader, Billy Graham. Ruth was born on June 10, 1920, in Qingjiang, Jiangsu, China, where her parents served as medical missionaries. She spent much of her childhood there and later moved to Montreat, North Carolina, where her family settled.

Ruth attended Wheaton College in Illinois, where she met Billy Graham, who was studying anthropology. The two fell in love and got married in 1943. Together, they had five children: Virginia Leftwich, Anne Graham Lotz, Ruth Graham, Franklin Graham, and Nelson Edman Graham.

Throughout her life, Ruth Graham devoted her time to writing poetry and prose, which helped her cope with her husband's long periods of absence as he traveled the world preaching the gospel. Her famous works include "Footprints of a Pilgrim," "A Quiet Knowing," and "Prodigals and Those Who Love Them."
